Primary Purpose:
The Sr. Solutions Engineer position is instrumental in architecting, designing and developing enterprise-level solutions with Microsoft products for commercial and end-user applications. This position is solutions-oriented and requires collaboration with sales, partners, end users and customers; and will be working with multiple platforms, tools and cutting-edge technologies. Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Leads team members to design scalable, extensible and reusable enterprise-level solutions based on customer requirements with Microsoft platforms
• Design and develop custom applications and integrations across a wide-variety of technologies. Participates in analyzing, designing, programming and extending software systems, as well as leading unit-testing and implementation as necessary
• Participates in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) with Business Analysts and Project Managers for custom projects; drives estimates and work-breakdown; define development work items for peer developers, and participates in pre-sales consultation meetings
• Leads code and design reviews; establishes group development standards and best practices; and evangelizes to promote team adoption
• Some travel may be necessary -- up to 5-10% travel may be required for visiting customers, provides on-site consultation and development support
Technical and Functional Skills Required:
• Expert level knowledge of C#, and latest .NET framework including ASP.NET. Thorough understanding of C++/COM desired
• Experience with business and enterprise systems development with Windows SharePoint Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Service; experience with one or more of the following business systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) desired
• Solid understanding of SQL (MS SQL Server) and database development
• Prior experience working within Professional Services, Solutions or consulting environment strongly desired
• Experience working with Business Process Management or Document Management projects
• Experience with workflow, document archival, business messaging, imaging/OCR or fax server integration desired
• Experience with XML, XSLT and web technologies desired (SOAP, web services, etc.)
Behavioral Skills and Competencies Required:
• Customer service focused, and enjoys interfacing with customers on a regular basis
• Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to provide consultation to both internal and external customers, including proven ability to explain technical issues to non-technical individuals and customers
• Demonstrates strong technical leadership and project leadership for a variety of professional service engagements and technical projects
• Strong desire to acquire new knowledge and expand technical proficiencies in a variety of technology solutions and platforms. Ability to learn and acquire new skills quickly
• Self starter; ability to work independently as well as in groups settings with minimum supervision; be a strong contributor within a team environment
Required Qualifications:
• Six years of software development experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or Product Development
• Minimum four years of software development experience with Microsoft technologies; with extensive technical/systems analysis experience
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience required
