Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a System Administrator position.
Description
Job Summary:
With minimal supervision, performs specific duties required to design, plan, and test all network equipment and servers. This includes overseeing the overall maintenance of both network equipment and servers. Researches enhancements and upgrades offered by manufactures. The incumbent will identify the benefits or issues, along with recommendations based on commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures. Assists the Technical Services
Manager in leading and direct the day to day work of the Network Technicians. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Essential Functions:
1. Complete work requests as directed by Technical Services Manager regarding installation of all systems, data
network infrastructure equipment and coordinating work with vendors.
2. Receive and respond to incoming requests / trouble tickets regarding problems with infrastructure systems.
3. Create and update all documentation relating to disaster recovery policies and procedures for all the Corporation's network equipment and servers.
4. Research enhancements to the network/server environments, identifying benefits and concerns that could affect the
Corporation's current processes and procedures. Follow departmental procedures for production environment changes, and make recommendations as to the timing and implementation plan for said changes. Will take the lead in most upgrade implementations and assist with the rollout of new systems.
5. Ensure that all networking equipment and servers are in good working order and functioning properly.
Requirements
GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED
Minimum Requirements (and other job information):
1. Equivalent to the completion of four years of college coursework in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
2. With 8 -10 years work experience with Cisco enterprise solutions.
3. Current Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification required.
4. Working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Cisco networking
environments.
5. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency Cisco infrastructure equipment.
6. Experience with wiring schemas including optic fiber required.
7. Previous experience providing IT support in a 24 hour operational environment preferred.
8. Previous experience working in a casino is preferred but not a requirement.
