Job Description
The Product Services Engineer (PSE) is a consultant and mentor to clients who are using or just beginning to use the MKS suite of tools. Duties include installation and configuration of the tools along with implementation, test and integration of customizations specified by the client. The PSE will interact with the client team at all levels, including engineering, engineering management and business management. The PSE will gather information from the client about their environment, processes and objectives for use of the specific tools within the client organization and will advise and make recommendations accordingly. The PSE will work alongside the engineering team with the tools, providing technical guidance, mentoring and addressing technical questions as they arise. The PSE will also perform formal training classes on the product suite for those clients who require it. The PSE will travel to client locations throughout the United States.
Successful candidate will have a strong software development background, as well as strong MKS tool background. Ideal candidate will be a self starter and someone who is able to learn and keep up with the latest technologies. Candidate must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be willing to travel -- actual travel percentage will vary, but will average 50%.
Required Skill Set
Required:
- Experience - Degree and 2 years in software development or 4 years in software development
- Experienced installing, customizing and providing mentoring/training on any of the following tools:
o The MKS suite of tools (experience in MKS Source and Integrity highly desired, experience in Deploy and other products in the MKS suite desired)
o The Borland suite of tools
o The IBM Rational suite of tools
- Well-versed in the software development lifecycle and in software/systems engineering processes
- Problem solver and analytical thinker
- Self-starter -- able to work independently or within a team with little or no supervision
- Agent of change -- able to provide consulting & mentoring services to an organization and to guide the direction of a technical team
- Effective communicator -- written and verbal
- Able to learn new technologies and stay current on industry trends
- Strong organizational skills & interested in a dynamic environment
Desired:
- Programming &/or Scripting experience (e.g. Java, Perl, C++, Visual Basic)
- Experience with other software development tools
- Experience with development against APIs
- BS in Comp Sci or some other related degree
Ability to obtain a security clearance
