We are currently looking for Network Operations Tools Analyst with Scripting experience to join one of our large telecommunications clients and help them with the on-going development and support of their network monitoring and management tools.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client, is looking for a Network Operations Tools Analyst tow work as part of team responsible for the specification, development, deployment, evaluation and upkeep of their network monitoring and management tools.
Their network monitoring and management tools include tools that were developed in-house by the internal team, tools that were developed by other teams within the organization, as well as tools that have been supplied by third-party vendors. In this role you will be responsible for working with customers as well as the internal tool development team. Your key responsibilities will be to monitor the health of the platform on a daily basis, troubleshoot and repair any issues, as well as ensure the tool set and its platform is properly maintained at all times. You will be the main point of escalation for all customer groups. Additionally, you may also be called on to assist in building or supporting test environments as needed.
ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:
This is a full-time, permanent position and is located in Waterloo, Ontario. This role will require you to work in a 24/7 operational environment (on call) and will require some flexibility to work some weekend maintenance shifts.
ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 3+ years of experience working in an IT Administration or Network Operations role.
• 3+ years in the deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows in an enterprise environment.
• 3+ years of UNIX shell scripting and experience with Perl.
• 3+ years with networking technologies, SQL databases and email systems.
• 3+ years with enterprise class monitoring tools.
• Previous experience working with Python and Ruby would be an asset.
• A strong knowledge of Change Management practices is also an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent leadership/ project management skills.
• Post secondary education in Computer Systems or a related discipline.
