SAP Conversion Lead
Reports to the Technical Manager -- Technical Services responsible for conversion. This individual will guide and define deliverables relative to the conversion of data into the SAP system to support the necessary process and business requirements. This individual is accountable for ensuring integration into their tower from all supporting functions and from their module into those that it supports. This person does not have staff management responsibilities. This person will be integrated into the Architecture team in order to ensure standard utilization of Convergys tools and technologies used to support conversion.
*Please note, this is a hands-on lead that will develop and manage the conversion processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for code reviews of team development
• Prepare functionality specifications and delivers to ABAP developers
• Responsible for creating Function Design Documents (FDDS) based on the Use Case Documents recreating by the Business Analyst.
• Responsible for understanding Functional Specifications followed by writing corresponding Detail Design Specifications.
• Responsible for developing high quality solutions based on completed Functional Design Documents.
• Responsible for reviewing and/or documenting the developer's Technical Design Document (TDDS) to ensure all requirements have been met.
• Responsible for reviewing the unit test plans and the quality assurance plans to ensure all requirements have been met.
• Responsible for supporting the developer and ensuring the developer remains on target
• Work with the user community to determine the best solution to help resolve customer problems and satisfy customer requirements.
• Ensure knowledge transfer to functional analysts as necessary to increase their understanding and utilization of the SAP systems and applications.
• Utilize ASAP methodology and tasks required during each phase of the implementation
• Follow all design work and integration testing protocols, change control procedures, uses standards, procedures, and practices in performing required work.
• Analyze current business processes and make recommendations.
• Identify SAP solution possibilities and discuss with business users.
• Develop a specific SAP Solution from Blueprinting, Configuration, Testing and Production Support
• Develop technical specifications for system enhancements.
• The Conversion Lead will work with minimal supervision. The analyst will be required to lead local and regional SAP module review session, requirement gathering session, facilitate requirements meetings, development walk through, and user acceptance testing sessions with the client.
Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline and six years relevant experience
OR
Master's Degree in related technical discipline and four years relevant experience
OR
Eleven years relevant experience without college degree
Candidate Profile:
• 5 -- 7 years experience in the designing and leading conversion efforts for SAP HR specific implementations with multi legacy system experience required. Specific role accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Client management
• Vendor management
• Source system identification
• Source system documentation and cross mapping to future state environment
• Development planning
• ABAP development as required
• File provision cycle negotiation
• File loading
• File validation
• Error reporting and management
• Cutover planning and implementation
• SAP 2004 or higher preferred
• 3 -- 5 years ABAP development experience specifically for conversion build
• 1 - 5 years experience with the design integration to SAP BW system of historical data models
• 2 - 3 years experience with Mercury Quality Center
• A minimum of 2 -- 3 full SAP lifecycle implementations
• 1 -- 2 global implementations preferred
• 3 -- 5 years experience in using ASAP Methodology for delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Multiple country and jurisdictional implementation experience (minimum of 3 countries)
• Foreign language skills in any of the following a major plus: French, Spanish, French Canadian, Portuguese, Romanian, Turkish, German, Dutch, Hungarian, Swedish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Bulgarian, Czech, Polish, Slovenian, Ukrainian, Korean, Thai, Bhasa Indonesian
