Be a key player at the largest state-of-the art, environmentally-responsible cement plant. Holcim (US) Located in Bloomsdale MO, Holcim (US) Inc. expects to complete construction of their Saint Genevieve plant by 2009. One of the key roles for this plant is a Process Programmer.
During the design, construction, and commissioning phases of the plant project the Process Programmer will work closely with the Sr. Process Programmer, the Project Team, equipment supplier and plant staff to ensure the plant control system is delivered, commissioned and set up per standards and specifications developed. The ideal candidate will provide the platform to assist with development of programming guidelines, assist with programming, participate in the Factory Acceptance Testing, and provide quality assurance inspection during installation of control systems components.
Responsibilities will include:
• Assist with the Process Control System (PCS), including design logic incorporating cement process knowledge to optimize control systems
• Oversee the PCS system and other related process systems, i.e. Linkman, Aspen, etc.
• Optimize PCS alarming structure to minimize spurious alarms especially in Central Control Room
• Create and coordinate a system for documenting and controlling all system program changes and upgrades
• Continuously assist in determining, evaluating and improving equipment/system performance (KPIs; especially OEE)
• Coordinate system fault finding, ensure the safety of processes and standard operating procedures throughout the plant
• Optimize the control/logic of systems/equipment
• Serve as trainer/coach to develop comprehensive process control knowledge throughout the plan
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, electrical, process or process programming preferred
• Rockwell ControlLogix Programming training and experience considered a plus
• 1-3 years of experience in process programming required
• Demonstrated technical proficiency for area of responsibility and the ability to translate and communicate technical information to non-technical staff
• Strong detail orientation with demonstrated planning and organizational skills
• Initiate action to achieve goals beyond what is required, is innovative and cost and safety conscious in approach to process improvement (pro active)
