The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for the development of applications and infrastructure for our platform which enable the creation of metadata driven applications. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude in software development and interface design. The role requires experience with partitioning of component infrastructures, strong infrastructure development skills, a thorough understanding of component programming interface design issues and a firm grasp of RDBMS systems. This position will be part of a small, highly focused design team. As such, the successful candidate must be able to work alone and as part of small teams and be able to effectively communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. Finally, the successful candidate must demonstrate experience with and understanding of quality standards, development tools and lifecycles.
Job Description:
Object-oriented distributed application development (Java, C++, SOAP, etc)
Experience with thick client interface technologies (.Net, Swing, etc)
Must be expert in Java Swing
Experience with web interface technologies (XML, Java Script, JSP, DHTML, HTML. etc)
Development on both Windows and Linux platforms a plus
RDBMS systems and SQL scripting a plus
Experience with quality standards and development tools and lifecycles
Education:
Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent 7+ years of relevant experience
Personal Attributes:
Self starter, willing to take initiative in solving difficult problems
Ability to work both independently and in small teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Resourceful
