Common Agenda has been entrusted to conduct a search for an exceptional Software Engineer with significant experience in software development. He/she will contribute to software architecture, development plan, milestones, and deliveries. He/she will develop quick prototype implementations and also robust, maintainable product ready code. He/she will have experience working with process engineers to scope requirements and debug system behaviors. He/she will work independently within a team and look for opportunities to make improvements as well as clearly communicate through written and verbal means.
General Responsibilities:
• On-site software engineerand point person for manufacturing database interfaces
• Maintain and enhance Ruby on Rails application and associated databases to support manufacturing development:
- updating existing forms
- designing and building new forms based on user requirements
- providing performance enhancements
• Manufacturing workstation software including human interface and back end integration
• Integration of back end systems needed to support contract manufacturing
• Limited overseas travel required
• Other various software activities associated with a high engery startup
Qualifications:
• BS degree required, additional education and/or training a plus
• Five plus yrs experience in software development
• Ability to plan and prioritize activities, perform and monitor multiple overlapping tasks/operations to meet schedule
• Expertise in C and C++ development
• Expertise in SQL and database design and maintenance (preferably PostgreSQL)
• Expertise in Ruby (RoR/HTML)
• Expertise in standard software practices required including bug tracking and source control
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
