Job Description:

We deliver websites, web-based IT systems, and computing as a service. The Network Engineer is based in our offices and data center located in Scranton, Pennsylvania (PA) USA. We are looking for a Network Engineer that can thrive in a challenging, friendly, and rewarding environment. This individual will help design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain our large/growing network of approximately 3000 Linux/Windows servers. Must be proficient in security, TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, SNMP/MRTG, HSRP, QoS, Cisco IOS and datacenter cabling standards. Primary requirement is to design, maintain, upgrade and repair the existing network infrastructure based on Cisco and Extreme Summit hardware, BGP, & OSPF. Scranton, Pennsylvania (PA) USA (2 hours from NYC & Philadelphia) is a family friendly metro area (low crime), fast growing, with a low cost of living compared to it's high quality of life. Responsibilities:
• Manage, maintain, configure and implement BGP peering relationships
• Ensure Network Operations run optimally
• DoS/DDoS mitigation and protection
• Configure, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems/issues 24/7, with assistance of existing/contracted outside Network Consulting firm if required
• Create and maintain documentation for network design/layout
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales network technical support
• Maintain and support company's internal LAN/WAN environment
• Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration
• Monitor and troubleshoot all data connections in a multi-gigabit environment.
• Research, recommend, implement and maintain network security methods
• Maintenance of the company-wide DNS cluster
• Maintenance, assignment, & tracking of customer IP address allocations
• Perform network system backups
• Automating network related tasks and implementing networking tools
• Develop disaster recovery & redundancy planning and testing
• Server Operating Systems (Windows,Linux,Unix)
• Hands-on experience implementing and administrating network devices, setting and maintaining policies and rights/security, utilizing:
-Firewalls - Mikrotik RouterOS, Cisco PIX
-Intrusion Detection/Prevention - Top Layer Networks
-Switches - Cisco, Extreme Summit
-Routers - Cisco GSR12000 & Catalyst 6500
-Load Balancing - Foundry ServerIron XL
Other Qualifications and Experience:
• Good knowledge of business processes in a hosting environment
• 3-5 years relevant Cisco Network Engineering experience
• Fluent in English
• CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications welcome
• Perl/C++/PHP/MySQL knowledge is preferable
• Experience dealing with internet providers, web-hosting or similar facilities a plus.
