The Financial Services Technology (FST) practice within SunGard Consulting Services is a project-based consulting firm that helps its clients build proprietary trading, risk and portfolio management software solutions for Hedge Fund Managers and Investment Banks. Formerly Finetix, LLC, our small teams of elite, hands-on developers execute engagements using Agile techniques and work on-site with our clients in New York City, Westchester County NY, Fairfield County CT and Houston, TX.
We are currently engaged in a number of challenging client projects that require senior developers with either Java or C# as their primary language of choice, plus proven hands-on experience in solving challenging data modeling or database issues. Strong fundamentals in software engineering and computer science are a must, particularly around data structures and concurrency.

Low-latency ECN Performance Optimization
Monte Carlo Risk Calculation Performance Optimization (using Data Synapse & Gigaspaces)
Hedge Fund Derivatives Processing Scalability & Workflow
Qualifications:
Candidates must have some or all of the following experience:
Strong Object-Oriented design skills in either Java or C#
Algorithm and Data Structure complexity
Multi-threaded design and programming (either Java or C#; both GUI and Non-GUI)
Design Patterns
Language-specific idioms
IOC (Spring/Spring.NET, Pico, etc..)
AOP (Spring, AspectJ, etc**)
ORM (LINQ, Hibernate, etc**)
Experience with JVM/CLR tuning (generational GC, etc**)
Continuous Integration (Maven, Cruise Control, etc**)
Automated Testing (JUnit/NUnit, etc**)
Experience in database fundamentals and messaging is not absolutely required but strongly preferred. This experience could include, but is not limited to:
Logical data modeling
High-volume data processing
Physical database design and tuning (SQLServer, Oracle, Sybase, DB2)
Message-driven system design (JMS/MDB, MQ, TIBCO, SonicMQ, etc**)
Data Warehousing & ETL (Informatica, SSIS, etc**)
Microsoft Analysis Services OLAP (SSAS)
Exposure and opinions on the applicability of advanced technology topics is strongly encouraged since our pipeline of future work will include projects that incorporate these technologies:
Functional Programming (F#, OCaml)
Complex Event Processing (CEP) (StreamBase, WebLogic, Esper/Nesper, etc**)
Grid Computing & Distributed Data Caching (Tangosol, Gigaspaces, Data Synapse, etc**)
Column-Oriented Databases (Vertica, etc**)
.NET 3.0/3.5
LINQ/DLINQ, WPF, WCF, Windows Workflow Foundation, etc**.
Experience working or integrating with the following vendor packages or markup languages is also a plus, including, but not limited to the following list:
