We have a client with 3 openings for Java Developers:
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for coding and unit testing application software leveraging java across production support, enhancements and projects. Accountable for the first level of code quality prior to QA.
This position will be responsible for the development of java components and database objects in support of business systems and related web applications. The position will collaborate proactively with functional users and analysts to translate business and integration requirements into configurable component designs and solutions. The individual will also be responsible for leading the technical designs of systems and for reviewing code.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete coding and unit testing activities on-schedule and per quality expectations
•On an individual basis, meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution
•Follow the standard development processes
•Keep technology skills current through training and development
•Full Systems Development Life Cycle projects utilizing the JAVA 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platform. Strong understanding of Oracle and Oracle Financials
•Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, modeling and OAF
•Developing enterprise web-based transactional applications on a J2EE platform or using Oracle Jdeveloper under the OAF
•Developing business classes in Java and stored procedures in PL/SQL
•Java messaging API, Message Driven Beans, SMTP messages and MVC methods
•Developing web pages using Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Script and HTML
•Developing web applications using J2EE application server, preferably Oracle9iAS
•Debugging complex web based applications
•SQL and JDBC design/development on an Oracle platform
INFORMATION PROCESSING
Individual will be responsible for analyzing information / data received and how it flows through an application. Individual must have the ability to design and develop applications and document the use of these applications.
As the subject matter expert, provides guidance as needed to the J2EE Development Team and ensures that system designs meet standards.
High School graduation or equivalent (GED or other certificate)
•Experience with Apache Struts Framework, Apache Ant, and other Apache Jakarta common libraries.
•Familiarity with Inversion of Control (IoC) and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) and frameworks, preferable the Spring framework.
•Experience with version control systems, preferable CVS.
•Knowledge of Functional or Automated Testing methods/tools like JUnit and JMeter.
•Knowledge of the Oracle database and its main programming languages SQL and PL/SQL.
•Adept in providing quality assurance checkpoints related to tiered development including object design, model design, and Java, JSP and SQL code reviews prior to solution releases.
At least 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, with relevant experience in multi-tiered architectures, object oriented analysis and design, and MVC based solution design and development.
The position will require occasional non-standard/off hours and/or on call support to resolve any issues or implement system changes in order to minimize downtime for end users.
