We are looking for a driven individual who can take our client's wireless data products to the next level. This is a "hands on" technical manager position... there will be implementation work. This client is located in Dallas.
Title: Software Manager (hands on)
Location: Dallas, Texas
Compensation: Base salary is open, but we are targeting $110-125,000 plus a bonus Plan. Full benefits. Relocation assistance is offered.
This client is a successful 20+ year firm and leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative wireless solutions for the worldwide mobile communications market.
General: You will lead a team in the development and integration of Operating Systems (O/S) into new mobile devices. The team is responsible for the kernel, device drivers, file system and the audio and video framework for wireless devices. This team also develops the memory management, bootrom, code loader and simulators for these devices. Using your people management skills as well as technical leadership over design and
integration of a real-time embedded O/S, developing code to manage hardware
peripherals within embedded devices, creating desktop tools to interface with embedded devices, and participating in low-level debugging efforts with
the ASIC, Circuit board, and Power groups. You will coordinating project activities within the group, and will assist with hiring and staff development.
Required Skills:
7+ years experience in software development of device drivers, communication protocols and-or multimedia. Solid understanding of
operating system principles Extensive C programming experience. Proven
ability to dissect a problem and form solutions that meet real-time constraints. Capable of taking on responsibility for a substantial portion of a project. Independent work ethic to bring tasks to completion.
Preferred: Experience in leading successful Software teams is desired. Experience working on Mobile phone OS. Assembly language programming experience (ARM, Intel or other) Experience with wireless technologies GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, BT, GPS.
