SUMMARY
Responsible for software design and implementation working in either a team or individual environment. May implement software designs or oversee their implementation by other members of the software development team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Programs and implements new product offerings and updates to existing software applications (including programming, coding, customization)
2. Participates in the development of design specifications for new software product offerings with other members of the software development team
3. Works with Product Manager and Business Analyst to identify client needs and ensure congruence with Technical Development capabilities
4. Performs quality testing in collaboration with Quality Services staff to identify and correct defects in product offerings
5. Creates necessary technical documentation in support programming and design activities such as release notes, code comments, use cases, and training materials
6. Provides technical support to internal US clients currently utilizing Technical Development software applications
7. Assists with the development and delivery of technical training on new applications and application updates
8. Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May participate in setting objectives, conducting performance appraisals, assigning and prioritizing work, establishing and maintaining quality, quantity and timeliness of work, coaching, mentoring, managing and motivating assigned Junior Software Developers and Software Developers.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with tools such as XDE, IIS and Identify
• Working knowledge and proficiency with tools such as Visual Studio.NET, SQL Server, Nunit, and SourceSafe
• Proficiency with RUP and the identification and application of design patterns
• Comprehensive knowledge of:
o Strong C#, experience
o Strong ASP.NET experience
o Strong Windows Forms experience
o Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Language Integrated Query (LINQ) Preferred
o Java Preferred
o Relational database implementation
o HTML
o XML,
o Object Oriented Analysis and Design
o UML
o Conducting code reviews
o .NET Architecture
• Expertise with unit testing at a level sufficient to teach others
• Ability to prioritize to competing demands, manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to collaborate, possess team orientation, and have dedication to meeting and exceeding the expectations of other team members
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Oral communication skills necessary to express ideas clearly to individuals and groups
• Written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate technical information
• Ability to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Baccalaureate degree in computer science or related field from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent foreign institution is preferred
• Two years work experience as a Software Developer or equivalent
• Experience with basic software development and testing methodologies (performance/load testing, scaffolding development, interactive development, configuration management)
• Experience with databases, programming, languages, and product development process
