Position Summary:
Responsible for the complete software development lifecycle of multiple projects related to the company's e-commerce, knowledge management and collaboration business strategy.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working in a small team and/or independently, the role involves:
Gathering client requirements
Designing and coding of applications
Integration with other projects
Testing, performance tuning, and deploying applications
Providing production support and revisions as necessary
Documentation
Other duties as required

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong Java / J2EE background with experience in the following areas:
Servlet / JSP development using MVC architecture (Struts, WebSphere Command Framework)
SOAP Web Services
EJB, MDB development
SQL
XML
Open source API knowledge (apache, ant, axis, commons, junit, xerces)
Previous B2B e-commerce implementation

Experience with IBM WebSphere software family:
WebSphere Commerce
WebSphere Application Server
Rational Application Developer / Eclipse
WebSphere MQ
DB2

Software engineering skills in:
Object Oriented Programming concepts
Software and system architecture design
Extending and integrating software libraries
Utilizing frameworks and design patterns

Working knowledge of:
Microsoft Windows
Linux
iSeries (AS/400)
HTML, JavaScript
Shell scripting
CVS
Other programming languages, especially .NET and Perl
Service Oriented Architecture
Security policy
UML, RUP, Iconix

Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills and adherence to coding standards
Resourceful, creative problem solving skills
Multi-tasking and time management skills - to prioritize which tasks needs to be completed

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Repetitive use of hands and arms.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - coursework in software engineering, object oriented programming, and statistics
