Sales Director (OSS & Mediation)

The Sales Director for Western USA will report to the Vice President, Worldwide Sales.
Position Summary
Due to enormous sales growth, our client needs to hire a Sales Director for the western region. The Sales Director has front line responsibility in developing, maintaining and growing relationships with key cable, wireline and wireless accounts in Western USA. The primary role of the Sales Director is to utilize company resources (Inside Sales, Sales engineering, Professional Services, etc) to sell its OSS and Mediation software and professional services to meet the requirements of the account.
This is a hunter Sales role, not an account manager role.
Responsibilities:
• Develop opportunity plans for new business with prospects in the Western US region
o Qualify new opportunities
• Meet preset deadlines and sales goals for the territory
• Participate in client events and key shows in the region that benefit the company
• Develop / present proposals
• Develop and deliver client presentations
• Account management.
o There will be minimal account management in this role
• Work with existing partners in the region to drive new business
o Nortel, Broadsoft, Cedarpoint, etc
• Identify new partners in the region to assist with the sales cycle (selling the product), and potentially the delivery cycle (provide first level of support to company's customers, assist with project mgmt and delivery of the solution)
Qualifications:
• 7-10 years experience selling software to Telecom service providers in Western USA
o Wildblue, Echostar, Qwest, T-Mobile
o Preferred location of candidate is in Denver or Seattle
• Excellent problem-solving, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; effective presentation skills
• Contacts in the OSS industry (service providers, partners)
• Strong understanding of OSS products and solutions
o provisioning and activation of voice, video and data services
• Willingness to travel
• Proven history of finding and closing new business in western USA
• Ability to develop strong relationships with clients (trust)
• Degree in business, sales, engineering.
• Advanced degree a plus.
• Experience selling to Tier 1 & 2 telecoms
• Ideal candidate will have brokered deals in the $3mil range
