JOB DETAILS
As part of HHSC EA initiatives, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals:
1. Direct development and maintenance of Web-based Java applications within SOA (Service Oriented Platform) platform.
2. Create technical architecture and design documentation, as required.
3. As a member of the team, direct completion of requirements analysis, architectural design, development, test and deployment of new application components, as required.
4. Responsible for directing, supporting and enhancing existing Java and/or Oracle based applications.
5. Work as technical project manager, project architect, lead web/java developer, lead database developer, and system administrator, as required.
6. Work with other technical project managers, project architects, lead web/java developers, lead database developers, and system administrators, as required.
7. Coordinate high-level application designs
8. Analyze software for configuration tuning opportunities.
9. Perform system analysis and problem resolution.
10. Develop and maintain data and process models.
11. Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
12. Provide technical leadership for testing and implementation efforts.
13. Attend program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide leadership regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
5+ Experience in the Information Technology industry
5+ Working and developing applications on the J2EE application development platform for enterprise class projects
5+ Full SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) involvement from analysis and planning to development and deployment.
5+ Coding languages and environments including but not limited to Java, J2EE, EJB (Enterprise Java Beans), JSP (JavaServer Pages / Stored Procedures), JSF/Struts (JavaServer Faces, Apache Struts Framework), XML (eXtensible Markup Language), Spring, Hibernate and Oracle.
4+ Development experience with implementing applications involving WebSphere Application, JSP (Java Servlets), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), Java Portlets, EJB, JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity), SQL (Structured Query Language), and JNDI (Java Naming and Directory Interface).
4+ Experience with and knowledge of the WebSphere/J2EE architecture, EJB, UML (Unified Modeling Language), Patterns/Frameworks, JDBC/ODBC (Oracle DataBase Connectivity), UML modeling & OOD (Object-Oriented Design / Development) skills, and J2EE integration points with external or third party products.
4+ Experience with MVC (Model View Controller) pattern or the STRUTS/JSF framework.
4+ Object modeling and design experience
4+ Knowledge of best practices in the areas of application design, performance, scalability and maintainability is also required.
4+ Web Services development experience (e.g. XML, SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), WSDL (Web Services Description Language), and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration).
Preferences:
3+ Database modeling, design and management skills including developing data access web services using SOA/ESB concepts.
2+ Experience with Web Services and XML
1+ Experience in Adobe Flex or other rich client technologies
Strong Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong Familiarity or knowledge of Rational tools
Strong Familiarity or knowledge of Mercury ITG
