You will use formal development methodology, lead our Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse and Datamart activity, work with end-users and provide primary administration for Cognos 8. Job Description
-Lead Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse and Datamart design activity.
-Utilize PL/SQL or SQL Server to develop ETL processes to report and utilize mature methodologies to optimize, structure, and manipulate data for optimal performance and utilization
-Work with end users to design, develop, validate and test Cognos 8 reporting and Business Intelligence solutions including development of Cognos Packages and Reports. Develop necessary objects in Oracle and MSSQL Server to support designed reports. Experience with dashboards and scorecarding is preferred, but not required.
-Work as a team member to assist in the transition from Crystal Enterprise to Cognos 8 ultimately becoming proficient in developing in and administering Cognos. Provide training and end-user support for Cognos 8
-Provide primary administration role for Cognos 8 and provide support to desktop services and end-user community for issues with Cognos 8
-Use formalized development methodology to assure that risks to security and business process integrity are identified and mitigated. Comply with all regulatory initiatives, e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, audit findings, etc.
-Work with limited supervision; be self directed on priorities, execution and planning. Manage multiple projects, requests for information, and reports -- all in various stages of development
Requirements
-BS in Computer Science or other analytical degree
-5 or more years experience in data warehouse design at the application and enterprise levels
-Experience must encompass strong experience in performance tuning and optimization
-2 years experience in Cognos
Desired
-Experience with dashboards and scorecarding
-Attention to detail and discipline to work to detail
-Ability to work with end-users and resolve “customer service” issues
-Effective communication of technical and date requirements
-A history of ownership and accountability
