Position: Flash and Interactive Developer
The Role:
We're looking for a full time interactive flash guru to join us on our interactive team - supporting our Sales, Marketing and Product Development units. The majority of the work is creating flash based widgets, micro-sites, applications and games. In order to take on this role you must consider yourself a flash and interactive expert. You'll touch on design and development, including animations, gaming, video, social networks and more.
We're looking for people who love constant change and also love the Web. If you are passionate about user experience you'll likely be welcomed with open arms. We like developers and designers who have a strong team focus - those who crave design debates, rather than shy away from them. We are an agile shop, focused on highly iterative development with an emphasis on delivering working code. We're looking for the best talent - show us you know the Web and we'll bring you on board, regardless of whether or not you have 1 year of experience or 10.
Your Qualifications/Experiences should include some (or most) of below:
• You're skills extend into markup, page layouts, and even basic server side scripting.
• You have experience developing games for the Web with a portfolio to prove it.
• You understand the difference between client integration and putting a client logo on a page.
• You truly believe that development is meant to be iterative and adaptive.
• You know how to get your flash talking with the other elements on a page via javascript.
• You're comfortable in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• You can translate between our graphic designers and our software programmers.
• You are able to take Photoshop mock-ups and convert them into beautiful interactive pieces.
• You have basic understanding of search engine optimization techniques and how to apply them to every page (including the ones covered with flash elements).
• You know how HTML and XHTML differ and how to validate both.
• You have experience and/or an understanding of source-control (perforce, subversion, etc).
• You know what a widget is.
• When you didn't have opportunity to use Adobe AIR at work, you tried it at home.
• You've worked extensively with video in flash; and can talk about why or why not H.264.
• You drool at the latest Papervision3D application; and can't wait for your turn.
• Application of physics in our casual games doesn't scare you.
• You know that the proper use of audio in a game can make the difference between good and great.
• You've got one foot in the world of design and the other in programming.
• You love a challenge, but you don't mind building slideshows either.
Technologies (take this with a grain of salt, we need solid fundamentals more than X years of Y):
• Advanced skills in ActionScript 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0, Flash video & Flash Media Server
• Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Flex
• AJAX, DHTML, Javascript
• XHTML/XML/HTML, CSS, XSL and Web Standards
• Server side scripting experience is an asset (PHP, Ruby, Python, ASP)
