Our Direct Client in South florida is seeking a contract to hire project for a Sr. Network Engineer.
Successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior level network and voice engineering support for a converged enterprise network infrastructure with more than 40,000 employees worldwide. Incumbent will provide senior level engineering leadership, infrastructure design, consulting and project management. They must have a strong diverse technology background that can support and maintain WAN/MAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructures.
Required skills/competencies: Minimum requirements:
- Expert level proficiency working with Access Control List (ACLs), TCP/IP, VLAN, VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS), Quality of Service (QoS) and IP routing.
- Expert proficiency with EIRGP, BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
- Comprehensive hands on experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN/MAN technologies and meshed network topologies.
- Strong working knowledge of wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n, WCS, VoIP, IP Telephony, H323, SIP and H320.
- Strong hands-on experience with MPLS, ATM and Frame Relays services.
- Solid operational and working knowledge of enterprise network management platforms for fault isolation management, performance management, capacity planning and reporting.
- Expert level proficiency with 2 or more of the following applications: HP Open View, Cisco Works, WCS, WLSE, NG Infini-Stream, NG Sniffer and Air Magnet.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to function in a high degree of independence on projects and tasks
Required Experience:
5+ years network engineering in designing, configuration and installation.
5+ years experience with Cisco products: PIX, VPN, Catalyst 6500 switches, MDS, Content Switches (CSS) Load Balancers and Routers.
7+ years in a 7x24x365 network operations environment.
7+ years experience supporting an enterprise network with over 5,000 clients, trouble-shooting network elements, protocols, services and transport Layer problems for voice, data and video applications
Preferred Skills: Desired Qualifications:
- Optical carrier services (OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, OC-192), Terrestrial Satellite communications (VSAT), Metro Ethernet and/or LAN switching experience.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Unity Voice Mail, Unified Messaging and IPCC.
Preferred Education: Education:
- 4 year degree in technical field plus 5 years network experience, or 10 years network infrastructure experience required.
Required Certifications: Certificates / Licenses:
-Required: CCNA
-Preferred: CCNP/CCDP/CCIE, PMI, CNX
