Software Engineer V
MA - Outside Boston

RESPONSIBILITIES:
# There is an immediate need for an engineer to help spear head layer 2 protocol application development. This person will be one of several engineers working within a protocol team.
# Assist with requirements definition where applicable, as well as product requirements review and analysis.
# Create implementation specifications and test plans.
# Perform code reviews
# Work closely with Product Management
# Work closely with SQA
# Work closely with HW development team
# Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
# Pro-active communication inside product team.
# Communicate effectively
# Provides technical leadership on small projects.
# Generate and participate in the development of schedules
QUALIFICATIONS:
# This person will require in depth knowledge and experience in the design, development and testing of layer 2 protocols. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and self directed, and have the experience with the many of the following protocols and technology.
# ~ Experience working with network processors
# ~ BSD and/or Linux application development experience.
# ~ C/C++
We prefer the following general experience:
# BS/MS degree in CS or related discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience
# Hands on knowledge and experience in the design, development and debugging of embedded telecommunication systems equipment
# Experience with traffic generation test equipment (Agilent, Ixia, Smartbits, Adtech)
# Additional experience and/or exposure to any of the following while not immediately required will demonstrate additional value throughout the project
# ~ Prior experience programming Network processors
# ~ Inter-process communication
# ~ Prior experience with switching fabrics
# ~ A solid understanding of IP QOS
# ~ Embedded network management
# ~ Driver development
