Job Description:
The Sr. Business Analyst position will support users of the IT Technical Systems in the Supply Chain business area. The position will work with the Supply Chain organization with focus on process improvement and automation, and general application support of all supply chain systems. The analyst will act as liaison between the business and IT to identify requirements and implement system solutions.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Build and sustain strong interpersonal relationships by interacting with clients and peers through understanding of the customer's business, their processes, and their priorities to ensure that system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements.
• Serve as the primary end user support and troubleshooting resource for the Cambridge site. Manage and resolve all mfg system related software and data issues. This includes prioritization, analysis, debugging, resolution and vendor escalation as well as product related training. Off hour and weekend support may be required
• Work with cross-functional, cross-site teams to develop and implement business solutions and systems upgrades using software development life-cycle processes.
• Work with IT and the business community to continuously enhance the functionality. Coordinate installation of new functionality or product release upgrades. Create and maintain SOPs.
• Ensure systems are validated in accordance to Biogen Idec's computerized validation practice.
• Interact with a global team of IT and Business professionals to achieve business objectives.
• Limited Travel as required
Specific System Experience:
• Experience with Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) required to assist with the design and implementation of functional requirements.
• Strong Functional knowledge of the following OPM Modules in order to provide operational support to manufacturing and supply chain users. Inventory, Product Development, Process Planning (MRP), Process Execution, Order Management for Process manufacturing & OPM sysadmin.
• Experience with EDI (810/850/856)
• Experience with Business Objects and report building
Technical:
• Familiar with MicroSoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Familiar with Visio
• Familiar with SQL*PLUS, PL/SQL, SQL*LOADER, TOAD
• Familiar with Data Base structures (Oracle, Access)
Qualifications:
• Understanding of biotech Supply Chain process and business
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot as well as develop alternative solutions to problems.
• The ability to work effectively within a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with systems validation preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (FDA, EMEA, SOX, etc.)
Education:
BA/BS in related field
Location: Cambridge, MA
Duration: 6 mos. - 1 year with possibility of becoming permanent
Rate Target: DOE
