Assistant Manager - Procurement

ROLE SPECIFICATION

The incumbent will be a part Procurement function for the Global Operations Support Center and report to Manager Procurement -- India of MetLife Global Operations Services Center.

The role will clearly be responsible to maintain quality of all service deliverables and the key deliverables will include but will not be limited to the details below:

This position is accountable for the cost effective procurement/contracting of products and services while achieving or exceeding customer and business requirements.
Identifies opportunities for the businesses within GOSC to add value through interactions and with the supply market.
Support Procurement Manager in creating strong business case for change to the business leaders.
Responsibilities include procurement activities for complex major commodities/services often with no precedent.
Strong Procurement background and knowledge of domestic/international related to Facilities, Real Estate build out, IT, Telecom procurement is a must.
Exposure to work in ERP procurement environment is a must, prior PeopleSoft experience will be added advantage.
Working exposure in implementing ERP system in green field site will be added advantage

SEARCH SPECIFICATIONS

Professional from the Procurement/Vendor Sourcing and Management function with at least 6-7 years working experience of which at least 3-4 years work experience in a BPO operations environment shall be a preference, however, strong candidature from alternate industry too shall be considered equally.
Must have a strong integrity check on past assignments, and has the ability to get work done in strained situations.

Work Timing 11am-8pm time frame

Competencies / Skill requirements

The Applicant should be a Graduate with min. 6-7 years of experience
Should be a well tenured (3+ years) Sr. Officer /Equivalent.
Knowledge of business principles such as purchasing, sourcing, business/contract law, typically obtained through a relevant Bachelor's degree, external certification programs or equivalents.
Requires proven success and experience in procurement and related functions, typically obtained in 5+ years.
Frequent contacts with internal/external customers and other company representatives at middle/senior levels of management to negotiate the complex business issues.
Strong interpersonal, oral/presentation, computer, writing skills are required to conduct daily activities.
Candidate must have proven track record in direct procurement activity and demonstrable application of procurement theory and principles.
