UNIX Engineer

Job Description:
Provide support to teams and applications that provide for the exchange of business data via the suite of B2B communication tools which service the Electronic Commerce Gateway environment.
Through the use of a hands-on approach, support infrastructure applications and team initiatives.
Maintain operations, gather metrics, monitor systems and troubleshoot problems to ensure the integrity of production systems in order to meet established standards.
Plan and execute software upgrades, script enhancements and make recommendations targeted to enhance the efficiency, security and stability of the gateway environment.
Participate in the Incident Management and Problem Management processes as a resolver accountable for root cause analysis, resolution and reporting. Ensure that all production changes are processed according to Change Management policies and procedures.
Skill Sets
Production Support experience on UNIX servers with an excellent working knowledge of operating system concepts (HP-UX 11.xx preferred) to provide performance tuning and timely troubleshooting resolution of complex issues including high-pressure system down events. - Broad B2B application background with some experience desired on TIBCO products, Oracle, SQL, MQ, Cyclone AS2, Apache, GXS, PGP, FTP, Peregrine, HP Openview and GIS Sterling Commerce experience would be a great asset. - Experience working in a 24/7 enterprise environment
