We are seeking a Systems Administrator to telecommute for the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex!
Systems Administrator
Our ideal candidate is someone highly self motivated with a reasonable background in Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP) technologies, as well as possess the following experience, knowledge, skills and attributes:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Provide tier 3 support services for Linux and UNIX systems in the enterprise. Responsibilities include host security, performance analysis and corrections, disk space management and responding to network issues and hardware failures.
• Build operational policies and procedures for successfully running Linux in a large enterprise environment.
• Automate regular operational tasks using shell and Perl scripts.
Clearly document maintenance and support procedures for routine tasks in order to leverage tier 1 NOC support.
• Support company back-end applications
Candidates must have:
• Degree or certificate in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Linux system administration experience to include software installs / updates as well as backup / restore
• Demonstrated history of superior customer service
• Expert shell and Perl scripter
• Deep knowledge of SSL, SSH, and PGP
• Working knowledge of Apache server configuration, MySQL setup and optimization and PHP programming
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to explain simple procedures in writing or verbally
• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them
• Motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance
• Ability to work productively in teams; good problem solver
