The solution creates an exact digital representation of original documents allowing the documents to maintain their original fidelity without compromising the character and integrity of the information. Clients can access their documents, at any time and at any location, after verifying their identity, by using a standard web browser. It also enables clients to selectively share documents with other individuals such as family members and advisors, facilitating communication and collaboration.
Position overview
The Application Architect / Technical Lead is responsible for all technical aspects related to Company's applications and underlying software architecture. The position is a “hands
On” one in which the individual will be responsible for both building out the development environment and writing code as well as evaluating code and products from 3rd parties. We currently utilize a partner for the development related to its product portfolio.
The technical lead will provide oversight to the development initiatives currently underway with the partner. The person who fills this role with actively review the code written by the development partner, be a part of the decision making process on technical decisions, and be a part of the team that performs unit and performance testing on the application.
As the company builds out its internal development team, the Technical Lead will be responsible for determining the development methodology, building out the development environment and implementing the processes needed to support product development.
The Technical Lead will also be expected to take an active role on the internal development team in terms of writing code and will oversee the work being done by others on the development team.
In addition to being an active part of the development team, the individual will also be a member of the product management team. The Technical Lead will provide recommendations on technical decisions regarding design, development and implementation associated with future product development. The Technical lead is also expected to research new technology to support new functionality and to create prototypes for assessment and evaluation.
Although the responsibilities of the position are primarily technical, the Technical Lead will also serve as an interface between the development team and management. Finally, the Technical Lead will also serve as a technical adviser to management and provide programming perspective on requirements. The Technical Lead will report to the Vice President of Product Management and Development.
Required knowledge and skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, specifically the document management functionality, and Windows SharePoint Services 2007
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005
• Knowledge of .NET framework (ASP.NET, C#, and ADO.NET)
• Experience with AJAX
• Experience with web services (SOAP/XML, etc.)
• Experience with Web development mark-up and scripting languages such as HTML,
XML, XSLT, JavaScript, style sheets (CSS), PHP, Perl, etc.
• Familiarity with the open source world of programming
• Demonstrated experience with both web-based and client-server development
• A desire to work with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies (Visual Studio
2005, object relational mapping, N-Unit/J-Unit, ANT, Cruise Control, Agile, Extreme Programming, etc.)
• Ability to manage a development and staging environment
• Ability to both program as well as complete design work
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
