The Strategic Sourcing Consultant is an expert in the strategic sourcing process. The primary responsibility is to advise our clients on all aspects of sourcing and managing the activities related to their commodity categories. These activities include identifying, selecting, negotiating and reaching a formalized agreement with suppliers, as well as the strategic and tactical review of all supplier agreements.
This individual must consult at both an operational and management level, ensuring that sufficient data is collected, understood and analyzed in order to drive and support an optimal sourcing decision. This individual will help our clients lead cross-functional teams consisting of business unit and functional support functions (e.g. finance, operations) through a rigorous, data-driven sourcing methodology. A principle objective of our consultant will be to assist our clients in reducing the total cost of ownership for all purchased materials and services while improving overall value from their suppliers. Managing conflict, overcoming obstacles, and driving team performance with our client are imperative. Challenging assumption and opinions to promote debate and the emergence of the best ideas is central to this role. A successful Strategic Sourcing Consultant will be naturally inquisitive, and an excellent facilitator for the exchange of ideas.
Success in this role will be defined by:
-Ensuring that all third party spend in their area of responsibility is sourced and procured in accordance with our client's corporate policies and procedures.
-Development and execution of category sourcing strategies that reduce total cost of ownership.
-Execution of projects according to an aggressive, consensus built timeline while meeting milestones and deliverables as agreed upon by the client.
-Implementation of projects that realize the value proposition by the client.
-Thorough and comprehensive adoption of Supplier Relationship Management better practices to ensure a successful and rewarding partnership with our client and their vendors.
