Responsibilities and Duties:
4 years Business Process Modeling experience, 2-4 years formal software design (UML), and system architecture design experience, preferably in a large enterprise environment. Job requires strong facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, customer-facing skills, and writing, and communication skills in a customer-focused environment, in the analysis and assessment of enterprise and system-level processes, systems, and components, for the purposes of defining System and software level architectural documents, artifacts, and software design components.

Position-specific Required Skills:
? 4 years process modeling experience, formal software design utilizing tools and methodologies such as BPM, UML and RUP, and system architecture design experience, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
? 7-plus years overall job experience in IT environments, preferably in large-scale environments.
? BS (Computer Science or Equivalent) Degree
? Must have experience working with to define system-level UML and other architectural artifacts (activity diagrams, use case diagrams, component models, etc.) in past work environments.
? Must have experience with UML-based architecture tools such as Rational Software Modeller (RSM), Rational Software Architect (RSA) or Business Process Modeler
? Must be able to work with a team of subject matter experts from across Custom's enterprise environment to analyze and assess enterprise and system-level processes and components, and translate into system architecture deliverables.
? Participate in requirements-related, use case-related, and systems architecture-related meetings.
? Must be organized, and have a detail-oriented personality.
? Strong problem-solving skills
? Strong Facilitation skills
? Exceptional documentation and writing skills.
? Experience with the object-oriented analysis and design, especially the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Rational tools is very desirable.
Position-specific Desired Skills:
? Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Rational tools experience is very desirable.
? Sun Certified Architect Certification is desirable.
? Other developer certifications (Sun Certified Programmer) would be desirable.
? Experience in service-oriented enterprise environments and with Service-Oriented architectures is desirable.

Unique Skills:
- Candidate must meet security clearance requirements for Customs and Border Protection.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- CBP requires that for the three (3) years prior to the filing of an application for employment, individuals must meet the one or more of the following primary residence criteria:
