Job Description
• Websphere Administration - Systems Admin/Architect responsible for administration and support of Walgreens Internet / Intranet Websphere Application infrastructure.
• Administer Websphere Application Server Environment for Walgreen's Enterprise Web Applications.
• Design, implement, administer and support Walgreens Inter / Intranet infrastructure, including HTTP servers, Web application servers and systems management and performance tools.
• Deploy and monitor new and existing Web applications within the Websphere environment.
• Determine proper configuration settings, troubleshoot problems with web applications and work with application teams in performance testing and profiling applications prior to initial deployment.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent technical training.
• The position requires a working knowledge of and 3 years first-hand experience with Websphere Application Server, HTTP web servers (preferable Apache), and some background and familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and commands.
• Experience with Java servlet development is desirable, as is exposure to J2EE concepts.
• Exposure to both Websphere Network Deployment and Single Instance platforms is a plus.
• Understanding clustering and load balancing concepts as applied to web applications is a plus.
• Candidate must be self-motivated, and able to work alone or as a member of a team.
• Must have the ability to work with business users, consultants, and application developers to gather requirements, convey architectural standards, and drive issues to resolution.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
