Responsibilities:

• Front-end and back-end verification for Financial Services portal-based web application -- to encompass various phases of testing including functional, regression, system/integration, and performance/load
• Interpret product requirements into functional test cases/test plans
• Identify functionality which is critical to product stability in order to perform/define regression test plan
• Construct SQL queries/scripts in order to validate portal data or other back-end processes
• Work with development team to ensure QA has all necessary tools/information to complete work
• Give estimates for amount of QA time needed for a release or project, based on content
• Open and verify bugs keeping deadlines in mind in order to appropriately track their status
• Communicate release status to the rest of the product team during testing phase
• Perform post-production check of changes released to customer portals
• Assist customer-service/development with reproducing customer issues as necessary
• Assist with Administrative/Set-up tasks for all customer portals
• Investigate errors encountered on production (that come in from the log)
• Create/Update product documentation

Required knowledge/skills:

• Experience working in the Financial Services/Investments industry; Familiarity with their processes and terminology; Risk Assessment experience is a plus
• 3+ years as a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer/Tester or related position in a Software Development Environment. Experience in a Java/Linux/Unix environment is a plus
• Knowledge of SQL and shell scripting or other scripting languages
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts where priorities change frequently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines without close supervision
• Organized, detail-oriented self-starter
