SUMMARY:
The Sr. SAS Analyst works directly with clients and vendors to program and analyze healthcare data to support product processing. He/she supports client projects requiring analysis and/or special programming on an as-needed basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Interfaces with IT staff and vendors to define required data formats and layouts
· Works with internal managers and clients to determine reporting needs, address data quality issues, support data reconciliation
· Performs client-specific programming and analysis needed outside of products
· Builds translation programs to convert external data vendor datasets into standard formats according to conversion standards using Informatica and SAS
· Performs validation of initial data received for new vendors
· Complies with all established standards and operating procedures
· Investigates data validation and quality issues and implements improvements
· Performs system admin tasks as needed
· Becomes proficient in product use to support data analysis and validation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
* 3+ yrs exp working with medical claims, pharmacy, or eligibility data or systems
* 3+ yrs exp using Informatica PowerCenter or similar ETL toolset
* 3+ yrs exp in SAS programming
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
* Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
* Good oral and written communications skills.
