Matrix Group International, Inc. is a leading interactive agency in the Washington DC area. MatrixMaxx is our flagship association management software product that helps associations and non-profits work better, be more efficient, and know more about their members and finances. MatrixMaxx is written from the ground up using the Python programming language in conjunction with MySQL and Apache.
The MatrixMaxx team, also known as the Reservoir Dogs, is looking for a dynamite software engineer to join the team. Are you ready to be our Mr. Blue?
AS A RESERVOIR DOG TEAM MEMBER, YOU WILL:
• Help clients re-engineer their business processes to streamline workflow, eliminate paper mailings, eliminate duplicate data entry, and save money.
• Be involved in the entire project life cycle, from the development of the specifications, design of the user interface, database design and construction, and programming.
• Be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes programmers, designers, webmasters and project managers to develop and implement effective product strategies.
• Contribute to the open source community through involvement in improving Mailman.
YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS POSITION AT MATRIX IF:
• You have experience with the following technologies:
Python (or another dynamic language like Perl or Ruby)
Version Control (we use git)
Apache
MySQL
UN*X command line tools
• YOU HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Debugging and profiling large systems (100+ KLOC)
Test-driven development
Design Patterns
Writing RESTful web services
Javascript toolkits (MochiKit, JQuery, etc)
Python web frameworks (Django, Pylons, Turbogears, etc...)
WSGI and mod_python
• You believe that code should be elegant and clean, and that coding is a creative act.
• You go beyond the specifications by making suggestions for making applications better and flagging sections that don't make sense.
• You have the ability to juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
• You are a star troubleshooter.
