We are seeking a (INTERNAL) CONSULTANT IV (CS) MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT ARCHITECT (EXTERNAL)MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT ARCHITECT for our strategic team. Our positions have flexible locations: National - USA (Home Based - Virtual Office) with proximity to a major airport.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The SharePoint Architect will work in a variety of environments including delivery, support and pre-sales where there is an emphasis on work with early adopters of new technologies and solutions based on SharePoint (MOSS 2007 and 2003). Successful candidates will have an extensive background designing large SharePoint architectures, customizing SharePoint using out of the box capabilities as well as 3rd party tools, designing and developing custom applications based on SharePoint, and integrating SharePoint with other systems such as SAP and PeopleSoft.
Project responsibilities can include:
o Design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of SharePoint infrastructures.
o Assess a customer's current environment - business, technical, etc. - and leverage that knowledge to help establish long term strategies, prioritize short term opportunities for improvement, and identify related opportunities for other SMEs to follow up on.
o Participate in the delivery of SharePoint-based projects. Participation could range from being the sole technical resource on a smaller project to leading a team of resources on a larger enterprise-wide project.
o Use and advocate the use of SharePoint and SharePoint development best practices, methodologies, and procedures for delivery.
o Understand the latest infrastructure architecture, technology, solutions, and industry trends.
o Create and deliver presentations to our customers and partners on various topics about the technology, demonstrate our technical capabilities,
o Meet with internal and external technical leaders to identify and scope new opportunities, identify risks and constraints, etc.
o Identify, assess and decompose the opportunities into constituent solutions and translate those results into an effective Statement of Work (SOW).
o Harvest intellectual property from engagements or solutions that can be developed into best practices or for reuse.
o Maintain relationships with partners and facilitate relationships between partners and customers.
o Work with account team to develop and propose strategic opportunities and develop relationships with customers.
o Develop and grow breadth of your skills across technology areas relevant to our services business.
o Mentor, develop and assist in recruiting consultants and architects.
o Provide knowledge transfer to Tier 2 support staff and technical support as needed

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
o Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
o Current Microsoft Developer Certification (MCSD, MCAD, MCPD, etc.)



REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Architect with a passion for, and in-depth experience in, designing, building, deploying and supporting large world-class enterprise-level SharePoint architectures and custom solutions.
o At least 3 years as an architect and developer with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0) and SharePoint Portal Services 2003 (SPS 2003) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) 2007.
o Must have experience in developing custom web parts and integrating enterprise content with SharePoint to include content indexing, personalization and restricting access to content.
o Knowledge of .Net and Web Services are also required.
o Also needs experience in creating .net custom controls and user controls.
o Demonstrated Large Scale design and implementations of SharePoint
o Experience with InfoPath, Excel Services, or Biztalk a plus
o Excellent documentation skills
o Provide consulting services to customers in order to partner towards a business solution
o Provide consistent customer service levels as defined by client assignment specifications
o Communicate project/work status with clients, project leaders, and managers on a continual basis
o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technology platform (.Net) and deployment of both large and small scale IT solutions
o Ability to operate independently within a team structure.
o Consultancy, Vendor or large Enterprise experience
o Excellent verbal and writing skills
o Methodical approach to problem solving and resolution.
o Able to communicate clearly with customers, peers, and management
o Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
o Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
o The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
o Ability to plan and accomplish project goals
o Willing to own and solve issues
o Writing, meeting facilitation and presentation skills including Executive level presentation skills
o Working knowledge of Microsoft virtualization suite a plus



This is a bonusable position that is "home office - virtual " based. You will need the ability for 50% - 75% travel while consulting with our large internal and corporate customers within North America. Preference is to be based in one of the following areas
o NY Metro District - this is NYC, NJ, Westchester, Fairfield County CT.
o Greater Philadelphia District also known as the Mid-Atlantic District - This is Delaware, DC, MD, PA, VA, and WV; Malvern, PA .
o Heartland District - KY, MI, OH, TN. Ideally, either the Detroit area or Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus.

Proximity to a major airport is required.
