JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Tech Lead/ Sr Java developer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of complex, multi-tiered, and distributed Web based software applications. You will regularly collaborate with other engineers, project managers, QA, DBAs, and operations staff. The Web Developer is responsible for coding and maintaining JSP applications for our clients. The candidate will be a member of a small Web Development team. The candidate will work closely with our designers, project managers, and QA team to actualize the application requirements. The candidate is characterized by a high degree of professionalism, independence, reliability, and maturity. Strong communication abilities are a must. This requires solid skills in a breadth of internet product and technology areas. This Web Developer will be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, and in addition act as a resource and a mentor for other technical staff. The candidate will be able to quickly absorb and understand complicated technical and complex marketing material and apply this knowledge to effective and timely problem resolution. He/she will work effectively in a dynamic and fast changing environment, will take strong ownership and responsibility for writing high quality code that follows best practices, performing ongoing troubleshooting, and implementing enhancements for their sites, and will develop within the context of a pre-existing technical infrastructure. The candidate will also contribute to developing internal tools and collaborating on process enhancements to increase the effectiveness of our Web Development team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a smart, fast learner and be willing to learn.
5 + yrs experience in JSP and Java. Very good and strong understanding of the Java core components in J2SE and basic understanding of the servlet package within J2EE.
Basic understanding of the HTTP protocol, web based applications, JavaScript and XML.
Very good knowledge of HTML and CSS, including optimizing and writing cross-browser compatible code.
PHP knowledge is a plus (optional).
Knowledge and exposure to a variety of internet technologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (good English).
Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Oracle.
Careful attention to detail in both front end design and back end code.
Ability and willingness to actively coordinate with geographically distributed team members on technical and process issues. Specific technologies include:
• Java
• Oracle
• Jboss/Tomcat
TECHNICAL SKILL:
Core Java (Core components (java.lang.*), Collection, Thread, OOP's concepts, Networking, Exception handling). (Must)
JSP/Servlets and knowledge of the J2EE servlet package.
Basic JavaScript
Database (JDBC, Transaction , SQL Quires).
CSS
Basic UNIX.
S/W designing.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
SKILL SETS: Core Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, UNIX. CSS
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years as a Java Developer.
Bachelor's degree in computer science / engineering / mathematics or technical discipline preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and client services skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
QUALIFICATION: M.Sc, M Tech, MCA/PGDCA, BE/B.Tech, BSC, BCS.
