Our prestigious Dallas Client is looking for a Vice President of Software Development for their Dallas/Fort Worth office. The VP will take ownership over all aspects of the IT department. This person must posses a strong vision and managerial skills with many years of experience managing medium sized teams of developers. The candidate should have strong communications skills in dealing with executives, investors, and sales as well as development resources. The successful candidate will build a team of strong developers while creating innovative products and services. The VP should be extremely adept at managing the entire cycle of software development.
Responsibilities:
Manage IT operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, budgeting, organizing, and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Guidance and support of more than 15 staff members and direct report staff.
Responsible for on-time product delivery and best practice software development methodologies
Oversee the management and yearly appraisals of the Technical Division staff and management team
Provide vision, leadership and management for the software development organization
Actively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Fast-acting and entrepreneurial in the pursuit of new opportunities.
Education/Requirements
BS in Computer Science
MS in Computer Science or MBA is a strong plus.
·Extensive technical understanding of three-tier client-server architectures, relational databases and object-oriented design
At least 10 years technical experience in software development and 5-7 years management experience
