Sonos is looking for a software development manager to help us continue to grow our expanding software team. This position requires a mix of strong individual contribution and direct management of 4-8 software engineers. Our ideal candidate is someone who has just made, or is about to make, a transition from individual contribution into software management.
Our product development team is focused on:
• High user perception, both in the initial experience and everyday use.
• Low support burden. The system “just works.”
• Attention to detail and low defect rate.
• Meeting the product development schedule.

Requirements:
• 2+ years experience managing small to mid-sized software teams.
• 5+ years experience software development on Linux, Windows or Mac.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle principles and best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong history of delivering solid products under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead software developers at varying levels in their career.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced growth environment.
• Decisive action-oriented individual who learns quickly, works independently, and takes ownership of open issues.
• 5+ years experience in standard C/C++ programming.
