The high profile client is looking to fill the direct hire full-time position of Software Release Coordinator/Build Engineer in Jacksonville, FL.
The Release Coordinator will be responsible to synchronize release scheduled for multiple development teams with QA, DataCenter and other user groups. This position will require the ability to develop an established structured release process as well as usher the timely communication of approvals. The person will also be responsible for software builds and Team Foundation Server administration.
The client uses Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio, TFS, SQL Server, and VS Team Edition for load tests. The ideal candidate shall have a demonstrated technical acumen and be a great communicator.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Building and deploying software releases
Building and compiling code of varying complexity using automated and manual efforts to ensure complete and accurate code compilation for release into various critical environments
Coordinating individual and Master Release Schedule(s)
Administering and maintaining version control, version control software, code repository and backup files.
Day to day tasks will include:
Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving problems with the build process and ensures the release has been accepted by all parties.
Coordinating releases with business, development, operations and testing teams on the release timing to ensure systems are ready for code to be deployed
Isolating developers from build process and branching and merging of source code as needed.
Attending required release meetings
Delivering executables and associated files to staging areas for distribution, test and production environments and follows up on incomplete of missing files
Keeping internal tools and data in sync with daily changes
Auditing configuration controlled artifacts
Contributing to the maintenance of standard development, stage and test environments
Communication of successful release to targeted groups.
Analyzing and recommending corrective action and/or resolving release delivery failures
Continually seeking methods to enhance and improve upon current processes
Flexible work hours are required as there is weekend and occasional after hours work required
A successful candidate will have:
In-Depth level knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and VSS.
Prior or current development experience with ASP.NET (C# or VB) MS SQL 2005, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, AJAX. Prior experience with a build tool such as MSBuild, NaNt or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to impart knowledge to others
Exceptional organization skills
4 year college degree in Computer Science or related subject, or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of servers and configuration, interactive development environments, version control products, automated build tools and processes such as VSS, Serena or other
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Work well in a team environment
An ideal candidate may also possess:
1-2 years overall experience in configuration management
Experience with TFS (Team Foundation Server), CruiseControl for .NET, NAnt, or SharePoint
