Summary:
Responsible for developing and maintaining The University of Chicago Hospitals web site and intranet site, including graphics design, layout, concepts, flow, consistent navigation, logos and typography.
Preferred Skill Set:
1. Java: 5-7 years progressive experience using Java to build Web Applications.
2. AJAX
3. XML
4. SOAP
5. Any development framework experience
6. Any experience with MQ or JMS
Job Qualifications:
BS or BA degree, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education, training or work experience required. Advance degree helpful.
Five or more years Programming or System Administration experience required.
At least two years of work experience in a web development/web design position required.
Knowledge of HTML and Dynamic HTML (clean coding and layout is crucial), working knowledge of JavaScript and SQL, basic knowledge of Java.
Familiarity with tables, frames and browser capabilities.
Knowledge of various graphic software packages including Adobe Acrobat, PhotoShop, Flash, and similar tools desired.
Should be comfortable working in Unix, Windows and Mac environments. Experience on an Apache web server in UNIX environment desired.
Experience with content management software and ability to assist other staff is mandatory.
Skilled in problem analysis. Pays very close attention to detail.
Able to work in a team environment or independently. Able to solve problems completely.
Knowledge of Project Management software and methodology preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in Health Care helpful.
Experience with a corporate intranet and content management software is a plus.
Experience with change management desired.
