The VUDU Network Operations team is seeking an expert in Linux Systems Administration.
Responsibilities:
Over 6 years of Linux System Administration experience
Experience working for Network Operations
Expert knowledge of Linux architecture and management techniques
Good knowledge of remote management techniques and procedures
Excellent knowledge of HTTP, SSL, Radius, SMTP, POP3, DNS, SSH, NTP, etc. IP protocols and services
Ability to collect and interpret network captures
Project planning and management under tight schedule
Excellent knowledge and experience with scripting
Expert knowledge of Linux security
Familiar with PCI and SOX certification standards
Good sense of priorities and self motivation
Good communication skills
Skills and Attributes:
Ultimately responsible for the availability and performance of VUDU server platform
Expert knowledge of CentOS and RedHat Enterprise server platforms
Good knowledge of Apache, TomCat, and JBoss servers
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of backup, restore and data recovery procedures
Excellent planning skills for a fast growing production environment
Conduct off-hours systems maintenance
Assist with maintaining staging, development and QA environments
Good knowledge of Perl and Shell scripting
Experience with system management processes automation/optimization
Good knowledge of multi-tier network environments and applications
Experience with building distributed systems
Good knowledge of Bind, Postfix, QMail, Squid
Test, plan and manage system updates as well as application server rollouts
Maintain security and access schema in Internet connected environment
Collect statistics and provide systems performance reports
Knowledge of version control systems such as Perforce, CVS
Onsite system/applications support (could require minor traveling)
Member of 24/7 Operations team with hotline duties
Education and Certification:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
