Job Responsibilities
As a team member / team lead participate in the design, development, testing, commissioning and support of automated baggage / parcel handling systems.
Develop web based applications using ASP.NET / C#
Configure IIS parameters for optimum performance.
Develop applications using C#.
Develop services using C#.
Develop server applications in C on SCO UNIX Platform.
Develop server application in C that interface with Faircom C-tree Server,
Develop server and client applications that use TCP/IP sockets for communication.
Develop applications that report their status using SNMP protocol.
Develop reporting applications using Crystal Reports.
Develop client applications in VB.
Install and configure Faircom SQL / MS SQL Server.
Design database schemas.
Develop stored procedures for MS SQL Server.
Troubleshoot and optimize SQL query execution time.
Install and configure SCO UNIX.
Install and configure Windows 2003 Server on fault tolerant systems.
Install and configure Windows XP/ Vista OS on Workstations.
Install and setup a small network with 8 to 10 computers.
Install and setup computers and equipment in lab and customer location.
Participate in creation / review of scope of work documents.
Participate in creation / review of requirement specifications.
Participate in creation / review of functional specifications.
Participate in creation / review of design specifications.
Participate in creation / review of test plans.
Participate in factory testing.
Participate in integration testing at customer location.
Track and report effort spent on performing various tasks.
Assist the PM in creating WBS and estimate task durations.
Assist the PM in creating project schedule.
Provide regular & timely progress updates to PM.
Identify and report all changes to project scope.
Use JIRA for reporting and tracking of issues.
Use Visual Source Safe / CVS for software configuration management.
Promptly report any project risks.
Work as a team to resolve all open issues and get system accepted by the customer.
The position is initially based in Denver for approximately 1 to 2 years after that relocation to DFW metroplex.
While in Denver the job may require travel of 10%.
The job may require average travel of 30% after relocation to DFW.
When on jobsite there may be requirements to work in eve / night shifts to avoid disruption to customer operations.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in developing Web based applications using ASP.NET / JSP / C#.
5+ years of experience in developing stored procedure for MS SQL Server.
5+ years of experience in developing software using C on UNIX / LINUX platform.
4+ years of experience in developing applications that use TCP/IP sockets for communication.
Experience in developing robust applications for mission critical, high availability systems.
Experience with source code management systems like Visual Source Safe / CVS etc.
Experience with use of issue tracking systems like JIRA / Bug Tracker.
Experience in use of MS project for creating project schedule and WBS.
Understanding of Fault Tolerant Systems / Applications ( NecFT Server)
Understand and practice requirements / change management.
Understanding of service oriented architectures.
Understanding of application server technologies and concepts.
Understanding of control systems using PLCs.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Attention to quality & detail.
Self-motivated individual who can work in team and motivate others.
Ability to grasp new concepts and technologies.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel. The job requires approximately 30% travel.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Minimum experience of 7 years after Bachelors or 5 years after Masters.
