Our client is one of the world's largest providers of ETL solutions. They have an immediate need for a Senior Developer to join their R&D team in Richmond Hill to develop a new powerful data integration solution. Under the direction of the Director R&D, the Senior Developer is responsible for the development of the ETL product on various UNIX platforms and Windows.
POSITION TITLE: Senior Developer
LOCATION: Richmond Hill
DURATION: Permanent
REPORTS TO: Director, R&D
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop and maintain the ETL product on multiple UNIX and Windows platforms
- Analyze and design new functionality for implementation on UNIX and Windows platforms
- Provide strategy and leadership for development team
- Define strategy for ETL component testing and provide assistance and supervision to Quality Assurance team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 + years experience with multiplatform C++ development including use of templates.
- 4 + years experience with development in UNIX environment including at least two of the following: IBM AIX, SUN Solaris, HP UX, Linux SuSE or RedHat
- 1 + years experience with development in MS Windows environment
- 3 + years experience with relational data base technology with at least two from the following: Oracle OCI, DB2 CLI, ODBC, API
- 4 + experience with UNIX shell scripts
- 2 - 3 years experience preferred with Web Services in .net and/or Java
- Experience preferred with national language support on UNIX platforms
- Deep understanding of relational database technology and SQL
- Experience in working with complex technical architectures
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply strong lateral and analytical thinking skills
- Well organized and able to work on several projects at one time with the ability to move from one functional area to another
- A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced environment
- Computer Science degree or diploma or equivalent training and experience
