We are seeking an all around Technology Guru who can be our on-staff programmer/developer, as well as be our systems administrator, and provide some higher level tech support. We are a staffing firm whose clients are in the marketing and digital services industries, and we are very focused on implementing Open Source solutions for our internal needs -- online tools and application development -- as well as for our clients.
The best candidate would not only help with daily operations of our company, but we also need someone who can help us continue to build our infrastructure and applications which will expand our services overall. Our ideal candidate for this position can quickly implement possible solutions that we can test, or do the research, and sub-contract if they are unable to program/implement themselves. Specifically, we have a large online application build that needs to get started, and we would like to implement and test small pieces of the app as we go.
This position would also provide some front-end tech support (level 2-3) to about 15-20 employees (Mac and PC), as well as back-end support and some SysAdmin on our servers. Desktop support is light because all of our apps and tools are web-based, so machines just need the basics (working browsers and security). This position is based in our Manhattan office, but candidate will also provide support to remote staff.
Requirements:
- Proven track-record as a Network Administrator for Unix/Linux systems
- Experience providing Desktop Support (Mac and PC), as a Network Administrator for Unix/Linux systems
- Ability to do front-end work on website (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with web-based productivity and collaboration tools
- Ability to help manage Word Press blog and MediaWiki databases
- Programming experience with PHP, MySQL, Java, or AJAX
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails development or Zimbra mail groupware application a plus
- Documentation samples (network diagrams, how-to instructions, back-up procedures)
- Experience with Google Enterprise and Salesforce API a big plus
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep all of them moving forward
- Experience delivering technical projects on time and on budget
