We are searching for strong Java Software Engineers with Active Top Secret clearance to join an Intelligence Community software engineering group in Northern VA. Our client tackles some of the most complex, intellectually-stimulating problems in the Intelligence Community by bringing together a multi-disciplinary team made up of Software Engineers, Computer Scientists, Mathematicians, Social Scientists, and Intelligence Community subject matter experts and theorists.
This is a group of very intelligent people, extremely high levels of collaboration, and a research-and-development mentality. This is a very similar to an academic research group environment (but with much nicer facilities and much better compensation).
Our client has very high standards. People in their group need to be strong in Java development and have expert-level skills in OO-based software architecture, design, and development. They must have experience solving complex problems.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- US citizenship
- Active Top Secret clearance or higher
- Strong experience in Java-based software engineering
- An ability to succeed in a Research & Development atmosphere
- A desire for a highly-collaborative, unstructured work environment
Candidates with the following are highly desired:
- Prior experience working in DoD or Intelligence Community research
- A commitment to agile software development methodologies
- A Mathematics-intensive educational background (MS or PhD preferred)
- A strong background in implementation and development of algorithms
- Experience with low-level programming in Unix, C, C++, and other languages
