POSITION TITLE: Senior Software Engineer (Architect-level candidates welcome).
LOCATION: Redwood City, CA
DESCRIPTION:
The company is looking for software engineers to join a truly stellar engineering team. We're a small company (40-45 people), but growing fast, and closing some BIG customer deals. The opportunity this company is pursuing solves a pain-point experienced by every Fortune 2000 company, and several of them are spending $3-5 million on in-house solutions to tackle this problem. The company was recently named by Gartner as a "Visionary" in the Master Data Management (MDM) market. We are well funded by two top venture funds and several public companies and are now building out our team to deliver our second generation products.
The company features a strong founding team whose legacy includes starting three enterprise software (NOT dot-com) companies ALL of which turned out successfully, returning $482 million to the employees and investors.
Now, we are building on that track record of success and launching the company.
We're looking for team players who can be responsible for implementing large sections of a major enterprise application. Candidates MUST have a track record commensurate with this opportunity, and a passion for creating large software systems. Our ideal candidate has the drive to make new software products and the sophistication and experience to make this a reality. We're using agile software development methodologies (Extreme Programming, Scrum, etc.) and are looking for developers excited about working in a progressive development environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Design, implement, test and maintain major server-side components of the company Data Hub and other products.
? Implement distributed processing (multi-threading as well as clustering) for areas such as data manipulation, search, web services, and security.
? Implement back-end components of a 3-tier application, including data model, data access objects, and application logic.
? Performance and scalability tuning to support large deployments.
? Research and prototype new technologies as appropriate.
? Define new product features in conjunction with product management, and provide specifications.
? Ensure quality and completeness of the product through unit testing, documentation and maintenance as appropriate.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
? 7+ years experience developing enterprise software. Preferred experience building major components from start to finish.
? Strong understanding of one or more middle-tier components such as workflow, rule engines, ORM frameworks (e.g. Hibernate), web services, and ESB.
? Strong understanding of object oriented programming, design patterns, Java and J2EE components.
? Strong understanding of relational database design, query performance, and SQL. Experience with Oracle and/or Oracle internals a plus.
? Good understanding of algorithms, complexity, and clear analytical thinking.
? Good communication skills.
? BS in Computer Science or equivalent from a top university. MS a plus.
