Position Description:
Must also have strong experience in designing and architecting software applications using n-tier architecture, .NET technologies, SQL Server 2005, WSS and XML/XSLT.
This position also involves supervision of software engineers on the team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for technical and professional growth, as we are currently redesigning and redeveloping our proprietary software in a C# / ASP.NET environment.
Responsibilities:
Supervise, guide and mentor Software Engineers on the team.
Collaborate with Product Architect to architect and design software solutions.
Analyze and evaluate new technologies, products and make recommendations to management.
Solve complex technical problems and guide others as necessary.
Resolve escalated production issues and implement long term solutions to avoid reoccurrence.
Develop code to meet the stated requirements.
Interact with key stakeholders from the Product Management, Implementation and support teams.
Develop in-depth knowledge of business processes facilitated by client's software products.
Collaborate with Project Manager and team to develop release and sprint plans. Help and guide team on estimating work and improve estimation accuracy of the team.
Provide regular updates to Project Manager regarding progress on deliverables and risks
Remove roadblocks for the team, facilitate team operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
10+ years of software industry experience.
Extensive experience in leading medium sized (4-8 people) software teams using Microsoft .NET platform required.
5+ years of experience as hands on developer using recent Microsoft Technologies such as .NET, C#, XML/XSLT, etc.
3+ years of experience in leading teams of 4 to 8 members.
3+ years of experience in designing and architecting N-Tier solutions using Microsoft Technologies such as .NET.
1-2+ years of experience in XP/SCRUM Practices.
1-2+ years of experience with Windows Sharepoint Services.
1-2+ years of experience with MDX and SSIS.
2+ years of experience with Biztalk or similar data integration product
Solid verbal and written communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technical environments and strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative abilities.
A four year degree is required. MIS or Computer Science majors are preferred.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Experience with an agile process such as SCRUM is a strong plus.
Microsoft certification (MCPD) is required. Candidate without the certification is expected to accomplish this certification within a year if selected.
Experience in evaluating and selecting third party software products is a strong plus.
