Senior J2EE Developer
They will originally start out as 6 month contracts but will be extended based on consultant performance in Atlanta, GA
Necessary tech skills:
10 + years overall experience
Java 1.4 or above - 5+
J2EE - 5+ (not so much of EJB)
Spring - 6 months +
Hibernate - 1+
Multiple Application Servers -- 5+
MVC and Web Application development 5+
Design Patterns
JUnit or TestNG
JSP
XML
HTTP
UML Modeling
Understanding of OOD/OOP
Working knowledge of UNIX
Good communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have:
JMS
JMX
JDK 1.5
AOP
Web Services, SOAP
Eclipse/IntelliJ IDEA
Ant, Subversion
Rules Engine
J2EE Performance Tuning
Debugging and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of the JVM
Additional Notes:
A team player
Good sense of humor, someone who can blend-in, adapt with no attitude
Ability to adapt and change as needed in a fast paced environment
Experience working on building backend systems (esp. from an API perspective)
Experience with multi-layer architectures (esp. separating business from data access and presentation from business)
Lots of day-to-day, hands on experience (we need someone who does “the work” every day; not a hands-off technical lead or manager)
Demonstrated interest in learning new frameworks and getting deep knowledge of frameworks that they work with.
Good communication skills (this includes being able to write and talk effectively)
If they are missing a technology (Spring, Hibernate, Struts, etc?) -- then I would want to see work with an equivalent technology or demonstrated competency
on picking these types of frameworks up
Solid knowledge of web applications (how they work, what happens when a user makes a request, what makes a web application, etc?). They should understand
this stuff cold.
Deep knowledge of Java -- they have to be able to deal with PMD violations quickly, write efficient code, understand thread safety and know how to design reusable code/systems/etc?
Good practical problem solving skills
