Responsibilities:

This position requires extensive knowledge and experience running an Infrastructure organization that is made up of teams that provide the following technical services: Wide Area and Local Area Network, Telecommunications, Messaging Systems, Data Center Operations, Database Applications, Storage Management, Disaster Recovery, and IT Security
Design and implement robust production processes, standards and
procedures for Data Center Services based on ITIL standards and Delivery teams and drive process improvements
Develop business cases for IT spending. Budget preparation and cost control; manage capital and operating budgets to meet agreed targets.
Establish and maintain IT performance management reporting develop and implement policies and procedures
Deliver high quality 24-hour support and operations to meet or
exceed Service Level agreements
Assess the reliability and performance of Data Center services;
initiating preventive and corrective actions as required
Manage availability, capacity, performance and configuration;
develop short and long term capacity plan. Ensure the effective utilization
and operation of hardware and software resources, communications and
facilities and recommend capacity upgrades as required
Leverage resources and processes to optimize costs, maximize technical knowledge and take advantage of operational best practices

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
15 - 20 years experience in network and data center operations experience successfully directing IT Operations and implementing and maintaining large-scale information technology systems across multiple hardware and software platforms in a large company environment
The preferred candidate will have experience and demonstrated
success in the following areas: management of large, multiple data centers and all phases of systems operations, deployment services and distributed technology operations. Expertise in business and contingency planning, security, disaster recovery and voice and data communications is required
This individual will bring an understanding of systems management practices (i.e. ITIL) and facilities management principles
The successful candidate is a results oriented manager who can
build and lead a business focused, time sensitive, innovative,
and cost-effective technology organization. Exceptional interpersonal skills
and an ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the
organization are required. This individual will bring a strong team
orientation
The preferred candidate will have built and led a strong team of IT
Operations managers and technical personnel and will have been effective hiring, training, retaining and developing staff. This individual leads his/her IT organization to be collaborative partners capable of working throughout the IT and business organization with a high sense of urgency and a focus on results
Experience with deploying and managing Open Systems infrastructure
(UNIX, Windows, Oracle, etc.)
Experience in an outsourced environment
Experience in managing large complex programs
Ability to drive common processes
Ability to work with other IT and business executives to delivery
and implement strategies
Ability to work in concert with other teams scheduling work,
establishing SLA's, communicating changes, and trouble-shooting problems
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information
systems. Advanced degree preferred
ITIL process certification is a plus
