My new client is looking for a 'Go to Technical Lead' to lead all Architecture and Development efforts for the company's core product. Great opportunity to take control and lead the company's current technology and help shape future product architecture. Not management oriented but looking for somewhat of a product visionary that enjoys working in a smart team orientated environment to revolutionize the way security applications are delivered. Management skills are certainly welcome, but focus is on core application architecture (existing and future) and code implementation, with the support of a small in-house Windows Client team.

About 90% of this role will be focused on the Windows Client application (downloadable, shrink wrap) a sophisticated windows desktop client that deals with low-level Windows Application Internals, process/api hooking, authentication, reg edits, application interaction (temporarily disabling/re-enabling critical applications residing on consumers Windows desktop, like SpyWare, Anti-Virus and other critical apps) etc.

With the other 10% working on the remote Server side of the application. Server applications and Web Services written in C#, ASP.NET (.NET 2.0) Great opportunity to learn .NET, if you don't already know it.
.NET experience highly desired, but strength in Windows Client Development w/ability (and interest) for learning .NET is much more important. RDBMS experience (open source db preferred) is also important to have, as the current database supports over 100,000 consumers/users with plans for scaling to support Millions!! Company has a dedicated production DBA, but understanding data design, being able to write SQL queries etc. will also be a (small) critical component to the over all role. Also, GUI Implementation with an eye for design is also welcome, but far from required.

Company is a late stage start-up and has been around for a number of years. With close to 200 people in the company, about 10-12 in engineering. Recently received a second round of funding from top-notch VCs. Company is near cash flow positive and has a very bright future head -- currently partnered with several top retail chain super stores (computer electronics, office supplies) and generating revenue. Boasts over 100,000 paying subscribers and growing fast.

Requirements:

- BS/MS in Computer Science (or related)
- 8+ yrs of commercial software design and development. Shipped product experience is a must (Windows Desktop / shrink wrap).
- Solid object-oriented, C++ skills are a must. Knowledge of Win32 APIs, MFC, RDBMS.
- Intimate knowledge of Windows Internals (application interaction, windows messaging, hooking, etc.)
- Server-Side experience is important, C# ASP.NET experience preferred, but not a must have.

Salary is from 90k to 125k, up to 10% bonus + equity, also offers a full benefits package.
