Essential Duties
Serves as member of installation team and performs testing, integration, installation, configuration, repair and troubleshooting of data communications equipment
Performs complex system installations and maintenance
Works closely with others regarding scheduling and general technical requirements
Requires experience in the field installation, operations and maintenance of telecommunications systems (multiplexers, modems, routers, cryptographic devices, timing systems and fiber optic equipment
Individual will be familiar with standards for communications devices and physical interface protocol standards
Must be able to conduct accurate site surveys and prepare site installation and test reports
Assesses and documents current site network configuration and user requirements and assists in the preparation of drawing and documenting configuration changes at each site
Designs and optimizes network topologies
Follows engineering plans and site installation technical design packages
Requires bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent and two to four years of related experience
Follow and use industry standard best practices and cabling standards
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field
Strong background using CISCO equipment in LAN/CAN/WAN standard, wireless or satellite environments
Demonstrable experience with local and wide area networking, communications, and related software/hardware within a multi-platform operating environment
