Term of Employment: Permanent Position, Full Time
POSITION PURPOSE: To provide leadership in the development or modification of software products or customer applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for designing, coding, installing and maintaining software programs.
· Responsible for assisting in the identification, evaluation, tailoring, and implementation of vendor-supplied software packages.
· Responsible for evaluating the performance of installed software by utilizing available aids to monitor trends, loads, and growth patterns.
· Responsible for analyzing dumps and applies fix procedures.
· Responsible for preparing documentation for use by computer operations, applications programming, and user personnel.
· Responsible for providing technical assistance and information to other systems software, computer operations, applications programming, and data communications personnel at all centers with this environment.
· Responsible for assisting the training to applications programming and user personnel in the use of software and related hardware facilities.
· Responsible for reviewing new design enhancements and programs with systems analysts and applications programming personnel for operating efficiencies.
· Responsible for assisting in design, coding, and installation of data base management systems.
· Responsible for analyzing specifications for applications enhancements for compatibility with other systems and within operating guidelines.
· Responsible for the hiring, firing, assessment and rewarding of direct reports.
· Responsible for the scheduling and planning of direct reports.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education in a related discipline is required.
Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.
Job Related Experience:
Typically requires seven yrs programming/ systems analysis or related experience
Management Experience:
Project management and employee supervision experience is required.
Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:
· A superior knowledge of programming (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc )
· A superior knowledge of how the pieces of a program fit together for the purpose of meeting the requirements of an application.
· A superior knowledge of how to document program design, coding, and maintenance.
· A superior understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction.
· A strong knowledge of the relationship of how the software being used relates to the hardware being used.
· The ability to interact with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation.
· Strong writing skills are required.
· Independent judgment is required.
