I. POSITION SUMMARY:
Major TV Network is looking for a web developer to join their creative team. This position is responsible for the coding, production and development of websites, parts of current sites and internet-based products. The Web Developer is the primary producer of web pages, dynamic front-end code and interactive programs and interfaces. They are also responsible for the integration and publishing of technologies and components in new sites or products.

II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Client-side coding, page development, interactive production
• Development and integration of dynamic elements into page code
• Advanced GUI development and sensitivity to information architecture issues
• Develop and maintain the coding standards of the online properties
• Collaborate with other departments and technical teams to develop and enhance creative and efficient approaches to site production
• Push development boundaries by using latest client-side technologies: AJAX, DHTML, JavaScript, Flash, etc.
• Assist in the technical development of more junior developers
III. SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
JOB SKILLS:
• Professional knowledge of JSP/Server Side Scripting, XML, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, DOM, Flash, Active X, PHP & MySQL, Video Streaming technologies and associated editing programs. Ruby on Rails experience a plus.
• Must have a working knowledge UNIX and an advanced understanding of server-side scripting
• Capable of managing peer-level developers
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to getting results for time-sensitive launches, promotions and events
• Maintain an atmosphere of professionalism
• Capable of understanding business objectives and be able to translate that business logic into technical design
• Able to work in a fast-pace team environment and be adaptable to the demands of all levels and types of production duties
• Willing to take technical risks and envision next generation GUI and interactive models
EXPERIENCE:
• At least three years of interactive development experience
• Experience working in mid to large size development teams
• Strong experience with dynamic generated content management systems
• Experience with difficult design integration duties
EDUCATION:
• Post Secondary degree (BA, BS) and or Graduate level (MA, MS, MFA)
